Two months in Himalayas I’ve been exploring Himalayas and its mountains, cultures and people since 1997. Spending time up in this region always gives me energy and peace of mind. The Buddhist philosophy and spirituality makes me question our western civilization and our stress and priorities. The mountains makes me realize how important it is to spend time in nature and being around water, forests and animals. Also the importance of physical activity. It’s a big difference between being tired after sitting in front of a computer or from hiking uphills mountain. Now I’ve been leading five expeditions the last two months up to 5400 m, to sacred lakes, monasteries, helicopter into the Everest icefall, to visit Lamas and to network with likeminded characters who are all seeking for that extra experience in life. It’s been an honor and a privilege to be spending time with everyone in the teams and to share my knowledge and to learn from theirs. Every day you learn something new., but it feels like you learn more doing an expedition. Every day you run into situations that you need to solve. You need to be flexible, to adjust and try to see things positively. Everything is possible, the impossible just takes more time. i’m also happy that we’ve been having the opportunity to contribute to the Sherpa society, monasteries and to make this area better place. Nobody can do everything, but everybody can do something. Buddha said; “try to help people in life, and if you can’t help them then at least try not to harm them!” Thank you, Himalayas for what you have taught to me this season . See you again on new expeditions in November. Love Johan Ernst Nilson Johan Ernst Adventures
