When traveling to every country on the planet, I realized that borders have been moved over the centuries so its hard to say that one specific country is a favourite, that’s why I have divided the 196 countries into small regions. These are my top 10 regions on planet Earth (not in order);
1. Inka Kingdom: Peru, Ecuador, Bolivia This area has always been magical to me; the wisdom, architecture, nature and food culture.
2. Scandinavia: Sweden, Norway, Denmark The old Viking areas are just so pure, beautiful with good people. Norway has the most incredible Fjords and Arctic islands and Copenhagen and Stockholm are amazing cities.
3. FRITZ: France, Italy, Switzerland This is my happy place; The Alps, Mediterranean, Provence, Tuscany, Capri, Paris, Rome and Monaco. The architecture, history, food, fashion and colors. It’s the best area on the planet for me to live in.
4. Japan:
Best food and most interesting culture.
Cool new technologies mixed with Geishas and samurai traditions.
5. South Africa: This country has it all; nature, food, wines, lions, penguins, good restaurants and amazing sunsets.
6. Indonesia: Papua, Bali, Borneo Papua is one of our most untouched places with beaches and old tribes. Borneo has both Orangutangs and headhunters while Singapore is one of the world’s most important capitals.
7. The Six Stans: Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, Kyrgistan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, Afghanistan. The former Sovjet region offers both authentic markets, interesting villages and impressive Sovjet-era buildings. It’s still quite untouched from tourism so it still has its authenticity.
8. Himalaya: Nepal, Tibet, Bhutan The roof of the world offers both Buddhism, snow leopards, 8000 m mountains and old ancient wisdom from the Sherpa people.
9. Antarctica:
White, untouched, dangerous, peaceful, cold and full of wildlife.
10. Indochine – Laos, Vietnam, Cambodia
Interesting culture and history that goes back thousands of years.
There are many places on the planet worth visiting, but if you only could choose 10 areas – this is what I’d choose.
