The Swedish Polar Research Institute was a new way for Johan to do adventures. Combining photography, science and film together with adventure was the perfect way for him to do expeditions.
Johan needed more than just the adventure. After 100 days in Antarctica, he started to understand how important it was to get his message out to the public. The human race is destroying our planet, and the polar regions are the perfect places for scientific research.

Johan and his team produced two documentaries about the migrating birds and nature around the Magnetic North Pole for the Discovery Channel. From Greenland, they travelled by boat through the North West Passage to Alaska and then back.
Johan also turned 30 years old out on the ice, and where better to celebrate your birthday than in the middle of the high Arctic?
